How Will We Win?

More and more of the people of God are coming to the sad realization that the professed corporate church leadership and membership have lost sight of Jesus our Lord and His holy standards. The following quotation is one of many scathing testimonies uttered by the servant of the Lord: "I am filled with sadness when I think of our condition as a people. The Lord has not closed heaven to us, but our own course of continual backsliding has separated us from God. Pride, covetousness, and love of the world have lived in the heart without fear of banishment or condemnation. Grievous and presumptuous sins have dwelt among us. And yet the general opinion is that the church is flourishing and that peace and spiritual prosperity are in all her borders.*

"The church has turned back from following Christ her Leader and is steadily retreating toward Egypt. Yet few are alarmed or astonished at their want of spiritual power. Doubt, and even disbelief of the testimonies of the Spirit of God, is leavening our churches everywhere." Testimonies

Vol. 5, p. 217.

In yet another reference, Inspiration says: "Unless the church, which is now being leavened with her own backsliding, shall repent and be converted, she will eat of the fruit of her own doing, until she shall abhor herself." Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 8, p. 250. *

The above references not only state the problem but show us what is the root or cause of our spiritual malady; it is our disregard of the "Testimonies"—the special light our

loving Savior has given to guide us in these last days. Instead we are "working out many things according to worldly policy," Testimonies for the Church, Vol. 8, p. 249

not God's standards. But what is the solution? How will the church become the mighty force for good that she should be and must be to save a dying world? This article is dedicated to answering this most vital question from the storehouse of all truth: the Bible, and from the Spirit of Prophecy. *
